1.  SCOPE

1.1  Scope.   This standard covers test methods for spring loaded pressure relief valves used in steam service.

1.2  Classification.  The following test methods are used for these pressure relief valves, as specified (see 6.2).

Test Method I  - Used to test atmospheric outlet relief valves

Test Method II - Used to test pressure tight outlet relief valves

1.3  Applicability.  These test methods are applicable for pressure relief valves used for surface ship applications.  For submarine applications, see MIL-STD-123.
