5.4.6.2 Superseding other documents. A standard may supersede other documents totally or in part. When this happens, an explanatory note shall be included in section 6 of the standard to clarify cross-referencing information (see 5.12.6) and provide any other information that contributes to understanding how to apply the superseding document.
